A Chicago truck driver’s found guilty in a tollway accident that killed eight women.
A McHenry County judge convicted Vincente Zepeda of eight counts of reckless homicide Wednesday. He could get probation Or up to five years in prison when he’s sentenced in January.
It’s for this accident October 1, 2003. Zepeda crashed his truck into a bus that was on its way back to Chicago from Rockford.
He was originally accused of only minor charges, but when the new McHenry County State’s Attorney took over, he upgraded the charges to reckless homicide. Louis A. Bianchi says, “Contrary to the prior administration, we felt this was the right thing to do….. and that was validated by the conviction today.”
