3:35 am Trucks
Police confirmed Friday that human remains were found in a missing man’s truck that was pulled from Red River the day before.
The announcement came after Shreveporter Christopher Michael Pierce’s family said they instigated searches that spurred the discovery of his truck and the vehicle of a decade-lost Air Force sergeant.
Police suspected human remains were in the truck’s cab upon an initial visual search Thursday, Bossier City spokesman Mark Natale said. Authorities covered part of the truck with a tarp after pulling it from the water but would not confirm nor deny Thursday what was inside.
Local police enlisted the services of Louisiana State University’s Forensics Anthropology and Computer Enhancement Services (FACES) Laboratory in Baton Rouge.
Forensic anthropologists with the lab arrived in Bossier City on Friday afternoon to search the truck and confirmed the remains inside are human.
