One Person Killed in Logging Truck Accident

An early morning accident in Prattville leaves one man dead and another injured.

A logging truck and pickup truck collided Friday morning at the intersection of Highway 82 and Washington Ferry Road near the International Paper mill.

Investigators say the driver of the pickup pulled onto Highway 82 in front of the 18-wheeler.

The driver of the pickup died at the scene. Medics took the log truck driver to a hospital.

Officials shut down Highway 82 while police work to clear the scene.
