Authorities are seeking a white full-sized, extended cab truck, possibly a Ford, in connection with the death of a Cedar Grove woman who was killed Monday during a home invasion.
Eva Maria Johnston Jacobs, 49, called 911 about 9:50 a.m. to report the break-in at her home at 7121 Compton Road but before Orange County Sheriff’s deputies could respond, Jacobs had been shot.
She died on the way ot UNC Hospitals, said Ed Johnston, a family member.
Neighbors described the area in northern Orange County as quiet and peaceful, where most residents know each other. But several violent break-ins have happened within a couple of miles of Jacobs’ home in recent years.
