US truck decline has Detroit in a spin

The US big three car producers plan to reduce or even halt production of pickup trucks for January due to a drop in demand in the United States, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday.

The petrol-guzzling pickups made by Ford, Chrysler and General Motors have suffered as among other things the price of oil has risen.

Alone in November the sales of pickups fell more than 8 per cent, the report said.
